Product Information

The Blue Mountains are a national park of exceptional beauty in New South Wales, Australia. One of the most popular legends related to the creation of an exceptional landscape that represents its landmark is the legend of the first inhabitants of Australia about three beautiful girls = Mihni, Wimlah and Gunedu are sisters who lived in the valley. Jamison, and were members of the Katoomba tribe. According to legend, they are symbolized by three limestone peaks that are the most striking natural feature of this protected area.

The three women fell in love with three men not from their tribe, but from the neighboring Nepean tribe. Their complex tribal laws do not allow intermarriage between Katoomba and Nepean, which led to them being forced to have three sisters.
The action of the three men provoked a great tribal battle. Elder Katumba and the sorcerer tried to protect the sisters from fierce fighting. He turned the women to stone and promised to bring them back after the battle. But the elder was killed, leaving three sisters petrified to this day.

This piece was made in honour to First Nation of Australia celebrating 40.000 years of their magnificent culture and tradition
